About New Album
Nachdem sich das Ensemble für Alte Musik Les Passions de l’Âme seit vielen Jahren mit der instrumentalen Ensemblemusik von Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber beschäftigt hat, wandte es sich gemeinsam mit seiner künstlerischen Leiterin Meret Lüthi in einem Marathon von drei Konzerten auch dessen Opus Magnum, den 15 Rosenkranzsonaten zu. Anschließend ging man ins Studio und nahm in Koproduktion mit Bayern 4 Klassik alle Sonaten für ein Doppelalbum auf, das nun bei PROSPERO in einer prachtvollen Ausgabe mit vielen Abbildungen und informativen Texten zum Werk erscheint.
After having devoted many years to the instrumental ensemble music of Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber, the early music ensemble Les Passions de l’Âme, together with its artistic director Meret Lüthi, also turned to his opus magnum, the 15 Rosary Sonatas, in a marathon of three concerts. They then went into the studio and recorded all the sonatas for a double album in co-production with Bayern 4 Klassik, which is now published by PROSPERO in a splendid edition with many illustrations and informative texts on the work.
