With her new album, Anna Bonitatibus explores Gioachino Rossini’s little-known Fogli d’album—intimate occasional works written for friends, patrons, and special occasions that reveal a deeply personal side of the composer. Many of these pieces are recorded for the first time and are presented in chronological order, offering a musical journey through Rossini’s life, relationships, and artistic development. The performances deliberately avoid excessive vocal ornamentation in order to remain as faithful as possible to the original sources and to highlight the expressive simplicity of the music and its texts. The project also reflects the latest musicological research and aims to restore the historical context of these remarkable miniatures.
